JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Enterprise Systems and Services (ESS) is responsible for enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, technology operations, service delivery, governance, and strategic planning for a mission-critical, highly regulated organization. This role drives technology modernization, operational excellence, financial stewardship, and business alignment by delivering secure, scalable, and resilient platforms that support organizational growth, innovation, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings significant enterprise-level leadership experience, partners with executive leadership to develop technology strategy, optimize service performance, manage complex portfolios, and ensure the reliability and availability of critical enterprise systems.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Experience
10 years of progressively responsible, related experience to include at least
3 years in supervisory capacity
Experience with ITIL, including the ability to develop operational sustainability plans and related task to accomplish outcomes and objectives.
Preferred
- Licenses and Certifications

JOB DUTIES
- Directs and oversees the day-to-day service deliverables and impacts under the purview of the Enterprise Systems and Services (ESS) division. This includes reviewing Service Now incidents to ensure timely resolution for the division and working with Division Leadership and the ESS management staff to ensure proper prioritization and escalation.
- Responsible for assisting in planning, with the resourcing teams, of Enterprise Systems and Services strategic and operational project portfolio. Responsible for ensuring the approved annual strategic and operational project portfolio is executed and implemented as agreed.
- Manages and directs the Enterprise System and Services enterprise architects to deliver well vetted and sound solutions for the UT Southwestern Enterprise as aligned with the annual strategic and operational project portfolio.
- Manages the lifecycle management strategy, assists with forecasting and budgeting for nearing and end of life infrastructure and computing assets under the management of Enterprise Systems and Services.
- Assists Leadership with resource planning and management to support projects and initiatives for other IT divisions and business partners.
- Participates and assists in the development of annual capital plans. Identify and propose innovative and creative solutions that enhance or increase the efficiency of the services provided by Information Resources to the campus community.
- Works with Leadership in the establishment of policies and procedures for server hardware, operating system, and associated storage and compute components; works in tandem with scientific and technical community to develop and cultivate knowledge of future trends.
- Consults with business partners to include application analysts, vendors, and others to facilitate planning and forecasting demand for project efforts, including understanding the design and build phases, hardware/software specifications, and pricing (project and on-going operational).
- Represents the Division in root cause analysis (RCA) activities and identifying process or procedural improvements to improve the overall reliability of centrally managed Information Technology.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
