JOB SUMMARY
The Procurement Assistant plays a key role in supporting hospital supply chain operations by providing administrative and coordination support for the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and services. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of purchase orders and serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries from accounting, purchasing, hospital departments, and external vendors related to procurement activities.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.

JOB INFORMATION
Status: Full Time
Location: On site- 5323 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX 75390
Shift Schedule: Mon- Fri; 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
High School Diploma or GED
- Experience
1 year experience within a Purchasing environment or equivalent combination and experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in procurement/purchasing or supply chain (hospital setting preferred)
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for tracking and reporting
- Familiarity with purchase orders and ERP systems (PeopleSoft a plus)
Ability to resolve order, invoice, and inventory discrepancies
JOB DUTIES
- Oversees the Return to Vendor (RTV) process for all goods being returned from University Hospitals and Hospital Based Clinics.
- Assists Buyers with resolving Purchasing Department discrepancies in the three way match process with the Receiving Department and the Accounts Payable Department.
- Assist Materials Management Operations team with the return of goods to vendors.
- Acts as liaison with Purchasing department for RMA's and Vendor Returns (RTV).
- Acts as liaison with the Accounts Payable department for RMA's and Vendor Returns (RTV).
- Acts with urgency and communicates promptly with staff regarding vendor returns.
- Reviews Return to Vendor requests on a daily basis to proactively resolve any open and outstanding RTVs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
