JOB SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates technical operations for the institution's electronic security systems, including installation, service, testing, and commissioning. Establishes technical standards and equipment specifications, oversees the deployment of new systems, and directs the maintenance and support of existing electronic security infrastructure.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

  • Education
    High School Diploma or equivalent. 
     
  • Experience
    5 years experience in an electronic security environment. 
    Knowledge in electronic security systems required. 
     

Preferred

  • Experience
    1 year experience as a team lead. 
     


JOB DUTIES

  • Supervises and trains Electronic Security Specialists. Oversees daily field operations of the Electronic Security division.
  • Maintains, administers, and troubleshoots databases, software, and system components for the campus-wide access control, video management, intrusion, intercom/emergency call box, and key management systems. Coordinates with Electronic Security Specialists on the installation of electronic security equipment.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to bid specifications and electronic security system designs for major construction and renovation projects. Coordinates and schedules inspections, testing, and commissioning of installed security systems.
  • Reviews and compares proposals and quotes for technical accuracy and completeness and recommends necessary revisions.
  • Coordinates site assessments of existing conditions and infrastructure for new security system additions and develops associated scopes of work and cost estimates. Oversees equipment refresh and upgrade projects.
  • Acts as an escalation point for complex or recurring system issues, working with systems administrators, engineers or vendors as needed.
  • Coordinates with Information Resources and other departments for ongoing and special projects,
    ensuring user support, developing documentation, recommending improvements, and implementing new releases and features.
  • Researches emerging electronic security technologies and trends to ensure the use of effective, up-to-date equipment and methodologies. Recommends updates to security equipment, processes, and practices as needed.
  • Ensures accurate maintenance of service records and oversees hardware inventory tracking. Coordinates and procures replacement equipment as needed.
  • Monitors the IR Change Management system for campus or network changes that may impact electronic security systems. Notifies affected users as needed.
  • Reviews and validates routine reports and develops specialized reports as needed for internal and external customers related to user activity, system configuration, audits, and alarms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
